What we do
Sourcing GHS-compliant chemical labels is harder than it should be. Catalogues are dense, certifications overlap, materials sound interchangeable but behave differently, and pricing is rarely transparent until you talk to a sales representative.
We compare suppliers, materials, and certifications, helping EHS professionals find vetted printers through our independent supplier directory.
How we evaluate suppliers
Every supplier profile is built from the same evaluation framework, so comparisons are like-for-like:
- Certifications: BS5609 (marine durability), IMDG / ADR compliance, FDA where relevant, ISO quality management.
- Material range: chemical resistance, temperature range, substrate options.
- GHS template support: CLP-compliant layouts, language coverage, pictogram libraries.
- Regional availability: EU, UK, US, global shipping and lead times.
- Pricing model: retail catalogue, enterprise quote, subscription, or hybrid.
- Customer support: documentation, technical pre-sales, post-sales responsiveness.
Editorial independence
We participate in affiliate programs with some of the suppliers we cover. We do not let commission rates determine which suppliers we feature or how we rank them. Our Affiliate Disclosure describes exactly how affiliate relationships work and where they appear.
We frequently recommend suppliers for which we receive no commission. We decline affiliate partnerships when the product is not a fit for our readers. Sponsored placements, if any, are labelled Sponsored and segregated from editorial content — there is no sponsored content on the site at present.
Our commitment
Part of the GHS Ecosystem
GHS Labels is one of three connected sites focused on different stages of chemical labelling compliance:
- GHS Symbols — hazard classification reference, H- and P-statement library, ATE calculator, storage segregation guidance.
- GHS Pictograms — pictogram library, free Label Constructor tool, Compliance Hub covering CLP, OSHA HCS, REACH, and UN GHS.
- GHS Labels (this site) — supplier comparisons, materials, and procurement guides.
Each site is free to use. Together, they cover the journey from classifying a hazardous substance, to designing the label, to sourcing certified printing.
